Journal Entry 2

Many people ask themselves "how did we do it", as you know back then, they were many great people who had big ideas on how people should live their lives and because of those ideas, many peoples lives have changed for the better. The picture above shows a factory that was build by the people as a mean to create something bigger. In Unit 3, I learned a similar concept regarding industrialization, it's a change in circumstances accompanying a society's movement of population and resources from farm production to manufacturing production. In simpler terms, it's the increasing application of human knowledge of production. When I think about the word "Industrialization" I thought of one of the philosophies of history, Progressive and Postmodern View from Unit 1 because both of these philosophies question human progress. Progressive View  is a central idea was that human history illustrates neither cycles nor divine intervention but continual progress while Postmodern View doesn't replaced the progressive view but it ask questions about human progress.

The picture also reminds me of the industrial revolution because it was a transitions to manufacturing new items to the world. Many items in the industrial revolution includes a typewriter, electromagnet, telegraph, steam engine and the sewing machine. These inventions were revolutionized the world because people were able to do things much easier with these inventions.
